The sdlc line could be multipoint, i.e. multiple controllers (PUs) sharing
the line. Each has a unique address, i.e. 01, C1, etc. The vmac is
setup with a "xx" - "00" last byte so that the address of the controller
(PU) can be placed there and make the vmac unique for each controller (PU)on
the line.

The sdlc address is a configurable parameter on the controller (PU) and the
cisco value must match for the DLC portion to come up. This is true for PU
type 2/2.1 nodes. However, with PU4 to PU4 links, INN links, the value
can be chosen at random under certain conditions. The following link

  Two question about sdlc, althougt nothing about sdlc
will appear in ccie exam, but I want to know it.

1, Does the vamc always 4000.5394.00xx ? Why ??

2, And how can I get the sdlc address ? May set any number
to for it ?
