What I do when I have something important to wake up for or it's an odd time
that my body isn't used to waking up earlier for is to set the alarm on the
TV with the volume cranked up. I then turn the TV off and put the remote
far enough away that when the TV turns on in the morning and scares the @#$&
out of me that I have to actually get out of bed to either find the remote
or turn off the TV. Works like a charm

Take it pretty easy the day or two before the exam (aside from necessary
travel).

TRY to get a good night's sleep the night before. This is easier said than
done, but at least try.

Make sure you leave early enough in the morning to reach the testing center
with time to spare. No need for unnecessary stress that morning.

Do not rely on just one way to make sure you wake up on time. An order for
a wake-up call is not enough. You should have a travel alarm, too, or set
the hotel alarm clock, in addition to a wake-up call.
