Unfortunately previous posters in this thread have not made it clear
that the 3550 has very limited CGMP capability. You cannot enable the
CGMP client on a 3550 like you can on a Catalyst 5000 or 6000 series
switch. Take a look at this link.

"This software release provides CGMP-server support on your multilayer
switches; no client-side functionality is provided. The multilayer
