Hey guys, very sorry about this, but, I still canni get the grasp of the
two examples in the 3550 config guide.

Can I just confirm that example one, leaves the trusted CoS values (say from
an IP phone) in tact, and any untagged (ie DATA) frames are set to a C0S of
4.

In the second, all packets regales if trusted are overwritten with the
default cos vlaue.

can someone help me with this?

sorry :)

Many Thx indeed for the fast response,

I have another example fro the 3550 guide which I am just hoping to clarify

This example shows how to configure the default port CoS to 4:

Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/1
Switch(config-if)# mls qos trust cos
Switch(config-if)# mls qos cos 4

This example shows how to assign all the packets entering a port to the
default port CoS value of 4:

Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet0/1
Switch(config-if)# mls qos cos 4
Switch(config-if)# mls qos cos override

Can I just confirm that example one, leaves the trusted CoS values (say from
an IP phone) in tact, and any untagged (ie DATA) frames are set to a C0S of
4.

In the second, all packets regales if trusted are overwritten with the
default cos vlaue.

Thing is, I have configure a port as such,
!
interface FastEthernet0/2
 switchport access vlan 100
 no ip address
 mls qos cos 5
 mls qos cos override
 mls qos trust cos
!

Does this config, mean that all trusted cos values get overridden by the
override command - even with the trust command in the config?

Many thx to all,
Ken

Ken,
I believe your first answer is correct based on the 3550 admin guide:
      switchport priority extend
      cos value
Set the IP phone access port to override the priority received from the
PC or the attached device.

The CoS value is a number from 0 to 7. Seven is the highest priority.
The default is 0.

Sincerely,
Matijevic
