I can only really comment on Cisco equipment. The
ATM-LSR has an LSC attached (Label switched
controller). The LSC is basically a router with an
interface to the ATM-LSR. It runs the routing
protocols and instructs the switch to setup the
cross-connects for each LVC. Any routing protocol
should be fine.

no. The edge LSR using 0/32 to exchange information
with the LSC rather than the ATM-LSR ..
