BRI0/0: wait for isdn carrier timeout

Guys,

Could anyone explain what this is actually doing. I had a look at the CD
and it just says :-

"On asynchronous interfaces, the dialer wait-for-carrier-time command sets
the total time allowed for the chat script to run. Default 30 seconds.
If a carrier signal is not detected in this amount of time, the interface is
disabled until the enable timeout occurs (configured with the dialer
enable-timeout
command). "
