Not a direct answer, but perhaps some direction..

I would also encourage you to understand when filtering is NOT needed as
much as when it is. I see common practice labs using filtering
techniques that are so complicated that you'd be better off using static
routes in the real world. Quite often this is a "filtering methodology"
being applied rather that a true understanding of what is needed when
and what is not. Don't be a paranoid filterer, as many things take care
of themselves. The importance of studying redistribution is
understanding which things do not take care of themselves, and how
things change when the topology does (such as ISDN replacing a F/R
link). To add to that, knowing all of the tools is important as well.

I wrestled with the more complicated ways for a long time trying to
figure out why "their answers" were better than "my answers". In the
end I felt that my minimalist method was more percise and less
complicated (I think I owe some credit to CyscoExpert for part of that
philosophy).

NetMaster's DOIT Workbook has some great explanations for redistribution
and route filtering. They also have a white paper available for download
in the READIT section. I am not sure about IE but would imagine from
looking over their sample lab and taking their vClass a few months ago
that they do an excellent job covering it in their workbook (Brian did a
great job of covering it in class). Also, there have been a couple of
pretty good posts in the last month or so discussing it. Cisco's Tech
Tips

has some great protocol specific information for the IGPs and BGP.

I've found the best teacher is just to lab up different scenarios and
see how the IGP's react and to see what the routing tables look like.
Breaking it and fixing it also seems to make it stick the best :)

Hi Group,

Would like to ask about a good refrence to study redistribution and
route filtering.

Any opinions???

Thanks for your help,
Karim.
