I don't know of any way except that after you've done everything several
times, you start to remember which things are in which categories (IP
Services, System Management, etc..).
I've always viewed "search" as being the enemy. I forced myself to look
up things by navigating the links. Before long, I stopped wandering as
much and generally went straight to things.
In addition, be aware of the non-config guide/command ref information
that you have access to, which includes 3550 doc and various design
guides.
An example, how do you create menus?
IOS 12.2 --> Config Guide --> Cisco IOS User Interfaces --> Managing
Menus
The IOS User Interfaces section contains a few useful things you'll see
on popular practice labs.
Forgot what + means in regular expressions?
Navigate to: IOS 12.2 --> Config Guide --> Term Services Config
Appendix 1 (TC:Part1:Appendixes) --> Regular Expressions
Those are examples of a few tricky ones that I got sick of hunting for.
I don't have it all memorized, but because of my practicing I can come
up with just about any technology and almost always nail the right
category 1st try when I see the config guide or command reference list.
It's tough to memorize everything, so being able to navigate quickly,
even if "just to make sure", certainly helps. I didn't focus on this
really, but I did get fed up with hunting a few things and tried to
remember where to find the info.

Subject: Navigating / knowing the DocCD
Hello everyone,
I have searched the archives but could not find the answer.
For some reason, I am having a very difficult time learning how to
quickly navigate my way on the DocCD. Some of you have posted that you
can find anything you want within 30 seconds!
I was hoping that some of you who have mastered the navigation of the
DocCD would share the method you used in order to get that skill.
Thank you in advance.
