Thanks, Enrico. I knew that num-exp would work. However, the num-exp is
a global solution and would work for any phone on the router.
I used the "translate" solution because I thought it was a more specific
solution and would meet the requirements more specifically. That is,
with the "translate" solution you cannot pickup any other phone and dial
5 and get a translation to 6001. But perhaps I was overanalyzing.
As you say, the real question is whether the "translate" solution
actually works. Since I don't have VOIP or phones in my home lab I am
stuck with trying it via "csim start" in a remote lab. And unfortunately
I can attest that "csim start" is very limited and does not seem to work
for testing this configuration.

implemented for local destination (on the same router), the only time
I've
seen it used was for voip called numbers ... I should try it on my lab
setup
