If there is no filtering specified in the lab booklet and there are no
routing problems (loops, wrong protocol because of AD issues, etc), then
unnecessarily configuring route-maps is a complete waste of time. You
will not get extra points for doing it. You will be graded simply on
meeting the requirements of the exam booklet.

I disagree; route-maps/ other methods must always be used to ensure the
"exactness" of the network. CCIE means that you are aware of the issues
that can arise and should always safeguard against them.

I'll suggest to keep it simple. Use route-map only if it is required.
Follow the instructions in the lab. If asked to redistribute eigrp to
ospf just do simple redistribution.
