Hello,

Not sure what the mft-tbs is but I have two 3810s with mft-e1's and they

can do back to back atm. At least it can allow you to get used to typing

some atm commands. This is how I've done mine :

You need either a T1/E1 back to back cable : (1 to 4, 2 to 5)

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/multicon/3810soft
/cmdref/e1t1ref.htm#26726

Then configure one side as :

controller E1 0
 mode atm
 clock source internal

Configure the other side as :

controller E1 0
 mode atm
clock source line

This will create interfaces called atm0 on your 3810s. Configure the
same pvc numbers (vpi / vci) at each end and you're away !

interface ATM0
 ip address 56.1.1.1 255.0.0.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 no atm ilmi-keepalive
 pvc 0/88
  encapsulation aal5snap
  protocol ip inarp
 !
end

r1#show atm map
Map list ATM0_ATM_INARP : DYNAMIC
ip 56.2.2.2 maps to VC 4, VPI 0, VCI 88, ATM0

r1#ping 56.2.2.2

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 56.2.2.2, timeout is 2 seconds: !!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 12/16/32 ms
r1#

Rgds,
Glenn.
