Good point, Ian!
Just at the time I needed SSH, there wasn't anything really "free" for
the wintel platform. Just got incredibly hooked on this SecureCRT.

SecureCRT is certainly nice but for about the same functionality
including SSH v1 and V2, telnet, profiles, history, tunneling X, etc why
not go for a free tool :) My favorite for this is PUTTY and is a
great free utility.

Then there's the idea of shareware.
I live on Cisco. I live with Cisco. I eat it, I breathe it, I sleep
it.. I also support Emuliex, IBM (2210- yechhh), Asced, Adtran and a
few other platforms. IMHO $99 is the best bargain for something called
SecureCRT by VanDyke.com -- it also supports SSH. I can keep profiles
of all of my customers I I can "pop in" when needed easily.
Everyone on this list needs to look at tool. I have been using it for a
few years now and will recommend it to any Cisco bigot out there!

Subject: Slightly OT: Hyperterm
Hi all,
Until I started telneting into a rental rack, I never had a problem with
Hyperterm. Everything worked fine and as expected.
However, I'm now experiencing a few annoying problems. I'm running the
version of Hyperterm that's included with Windows Me with it's default
settings: Terminal type: autodetect; etc
Here are the problems:
1) The lines that scroll off the active portion of the window are all
garbled so if I have a large config file and I want scroll back towards
the beginning of the file to see various settings, I can't.
2) Certain keys that used to work, don't anymore. For example, the up
arrow doesn't recall the last commands entered and the left arrow
doesn't do anything.
I've tried changing some of the settings but most changes made things
worst. Has anybody ever come across these problems before and know how
to correct them? I have 30 days to correct this or figure something
else out because that's when my evaluation copy of SecureCrt expires.
Thanks dt
