Hello group,
I have a question on adding a static MAC address mapping on a 3548. The
command requires the entry of a 'source' port, and this is what I don't
understand. In my example, I need to enter a static MAC entry for
00e0.7b03.4c31 to point to Gi0/1. I just thought that you would simply
enter a mapping between those two. But, the command format is as follows:
mac-address-table static hw-addr in-port out-port-list [atm slot/port] [vlan
vlan-id]
This is what I ended up doing in my case, but I still don't understand the
need for a 'in-port' parameter:
mac-address-table static 00e0.7b03.4c31 FastEthernet0/5 GigabitEthernet0/1
vlan 1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rolando
