Subject: Cleared Security CCIE lab
Hey Folks
Cleared my security lab on Sept 30th in San Jose
Used following 5 books for preparation
======================================
1. Cisco Secure Virtual Private Networks
2. Cisco Secure Intrusion Detection System
3. Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced Exam Certification
4. Managing Cisco Network Security
5. CCIE Practical Studies: Security (CCIE Self-Study)
Pros : There is nothing else. Brings all contents in one place
Cons : 5 books have repetitions within themselves
Used Following practice labs
============================
1. CCIE Practical Studies: Security - it has 8 labs
2. Hello computers - it has 16 labs
Pros : Good practice. Helps to gain speed
Cons : Lots of repetitions
Tips for preparation
====================
0. Lots of reading and practice !!!!!!!
1. You need to understand IPSec clearly before you move on
2. PIX needs tons of practice. Rental time won't do. Its better to have
own testbed
3. Make sure you understand how various security features interact
Thanks
Deepesh
