If my goal is to mark packets emanating
from port 3/22 with DSCP values of 40,
does this config do the trick?
set qos enable
set qos acl ip ACL_ANY dscp 40 tcp any any
set port qos 3/22 port-based
set qos acl map ACL_ANY 3/22
Am I missing anything? I just want to set the
ToS bits using the switch instead of a default
gateway.

That would be interesting if you could do it on a layer-2 switchport.
I'm interested to see what responses are provided.

I've heard that a 6509 CatOS can flip on the TOS bits for
IP precedence or DSCP. I'm looking for a sample config
to be able to pick a port on the switch and mark all
or certain types of traffic coming from it. I've read a
few documents on it but it seems far less straight forward
than it could be. Any pointers would be appreciated.
I'm used to marking traffic with access lists on default gateways but if
a switch can do this automagically, it would be preferable.
