Hi,
I have a some questions regarding the config below:
interface Port-channel1
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,20,30,40,55,70,100
switchport mode trunk
no ip address
interface FastEthernet0/23
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,20,30,40,55,70,100
switchport mode trunk
no ip address
udld enable
channel-group 1 mode on
!
interface FastEthernet0/24
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,20,30,40,55,70,100
switchport mode trunk
no ip address
udld enable
channel-group 1 mode on
1) When I tried to enter "udld enable" under the phy interface, I entered
"udld ?" and "enable" wasn't an available choice although "port" was so
that's what I entered. I then did a show run, but udld enable wasn't in the
config. What's the proper way to enable udld? Should udld normally be
enabled on both ends of the link? What does "udld port" mean? It's not even
in the command reference.
2) Is the command "switchport mode trunk" necessary when the other
"switchport trunk" commands are present? If that command is necessary but
wasn't entered, which show commands would be best to use to identify the
omission?
3) Besides the "switchport trunk native vlan #" , which of the other
switchport trunk commands need to be entered on both ends of the link?
Thanks for any help you can provide. I know that Trunking and Etherchannels
are core Cat 3550 topics I have to know for the exam and I want to make sure I
really understand this stuff before doing battle with the beast. dt
