Hi everybody,
I came across this while reviewing port security for the 3550. Here's the
link:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12114ea1/3550scg/sw
trafc.htm#1038501
In that section, I saw 2 commands:
switchport port-security mac-address [mac-address [vlan vlan-id]]
switchport port-security mac-address sticky [mac-address [vlan vlan-id]]
Here's my question: Why would the optional mac addr ever be added after using
the sticky keyword?
If you wanted to add a mac addr, wouldn't you use the 1st command and if you
wanted the switch to dynamically learn mac addresses, wouldn't you use the 2nd
command without specifying a mac addr?
This doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone explain this?
Thanks, dt
