You cannot trunk on a 2500.

You can trunk on a 2600 10MB interface.

Subject: 802.1q trunking on ethernet interfaces

Hi,

I tried to config an 802.1q trunk on a regular (not fast) 10mb ethernet
interface but it wouldn't work. It didn't even recongize the encap command.
I know that fast ethernet is required for ISL trunking, but I couldn't find
anything that said fast ethernet was required for 802.1q trunks.

I tried this on a 25xx router running IOS 12.1 (5) T.

Is fast ethernet also required to use 802.1q trunking?

Thanks, dt
