this is not a problem.

when you get your router you configure the T1 controller with the number of
timeslots you get allocated

eg

controller T1 0/0
channel group 0 timeslots 1-4
etc etc etc - you can specify the line encoding, clocking etc here

when you type in this config, your router gets a new serial interface

eg
interface serial 0/0:0 !!!!the number after the colon: is the channel
group you defined above.

you can then encapsulate your serial interface in any way you like

eg interface serial 0/0:0
encapsulation ppp - or frame-relay or whatever
