Sorry for the typo in my previous email, and thank you for correction. I
keep thinking meters.
The SX GBIC operates 220 meters (722 ft) on usual 62.5/160 fiber. If one
has a better fiber the distance is longer, especially if it is 50 microns.
If it is 50/500 which is the best possible case, then it is 550 meters (1804
feet). I have not actually seen many people who have such fiber installed
though, so my point was that unless it is known what fiber it is then 220
meters is the safe assumption. More details:
