Keep in mind, the default route will only work if you have 'ip routing'
enabled on the 4503 (assuming you have a Sup3/4). Otherwise you need to
make an 'ip default-gateway' on the 4503 to get it to communicate
outside it's subnet. Having said that, even without a
default-route/default-gateway, you should still be able to ping things
within the same subnet (VLAN) as the management interface. Same on the
5500..... Just set a default-gateway, but even without it, you should
still be able to ping anything in the same subnet as the sc0 interface.
