I am sorry for missing some details. The 12.2.15T5 image will not fit into
2610 or 2611 16 MB flash. It will however fit into 2620 and 2621 32 MB
flash. For 2610 best I know you either have to leave with 12.2.8T10 (I
would use ENTERPRISE FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES) downloaded from 2621 XM area,
or go to a higher revision but a limited feature set, which will fit into 16
MB flash.
Back when I remember people mentioning possibility of further compressing an
IOS image with Unix tools, so it would fit on the flash, but I long lost my
notes on how to do it.
Ultimately 26x1 XM is a lot better choice, equipped with 96+ dram and 32+
flash, but 2610 is still lot more usable option then 2500.
Best regards,
Alexei
P.S. Again only use the image mentioned in the LAB environment.

How do you fit a 19MB 12.2.15T5 ENTERPRISE PLUS IPSEC 3DES image on a 16MB
Flash chip?

Agree, but for LAB only purposes you can take XM image and put it on usual
2600 (just make sure dram and flash are at a maximum)

Even with the 2600, you will need to get the XM to run the higher level of
IOS.

Well said!
I've gotten two 2600's in my lab lately but I just
spent all desposable cash on a Cat 3550 so I'll half
to lump it with the 2500's for a while longer.
You're right though and once in a while I get bit by
that trying to exicute a lab.

Barney
