Hi all,
In reviewing configuring SVC creation using ATM Multiprotocol Encapsulation (
rfc 2684), I see that there are two ways an ATM address can be assigned to
the interface; manually by just entering the nsap or by using ILMI to get the
prefix and then assigning the ESI.
On the exam, if a NSAP address needs to be assigned, does Cisco give us the
NSAP to use or do we just make one up? And, if we just make one up, besides
entering 40 hex digits, are there any other rules that must be used?
If we're using ILMI, we still need to assign the ESI portion of the address.
For the ESI, as with the NSAP, does Cisco tell us what ESI to use or do we
just make one up? And, if we just make one up, are there any rules that need
to be followed?
Thanks in advance, dt
