Yes the Server Admin or Channel Admin can make sure that people are muted,
kicked, banned, etc... You have full control over everything. You can also
set it up so that only registered users can enter the voice chat so that you
could have a pre-registration where a certain number of willing participants
are allowed which is a secure way of going about it. It does not have the
ability to share the desktop unfortunately -- I am looking for an online web
based whiteboard or something of the sort but can not seem to find a free
one -- maybe someone else out there knows of a free whiteboard or desktop
image sharing solution that would be able to turn this into a total
E-Learning virtual classroom.

I think that is a fantastic idea! Does the administrator have the ability
to mute people or remove disruptions? Does anyone know of a free program
that offers voice chat with the ability to share a desktop?

We can have informal online classes.

I also have an IRC chat server up and running if anyone is interested.

Hey Everyone,

I was playing around the other day and found a program that could
probably be put to good use here. A few of you out there may know what it
is. It is a program called Teamspeak. It is just a Client/Server voice chat
program, but the voice quality is decent and it uses up minimal bandwidth. I
have setup a server on my home computer and it is easily supporting 20
people on at a time without any real load on my bandwidth. I was wondering
if we may be able to utilize this program for our benefit and schedule a
weekly or even bi-weekly chat. It could be that one of the CCIE's in the
group gives a lecture on a certain topic or it could just be a question and
answer session. I have a feeling that we could all benefit from this. Let me
know if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
