I believed that the CCIE does demonstate effective work habits because
if we think of some of the most benefical "habits" they would most
likely be in no particular order

1) Speed and Acuracy
2) Completness and attention to detail (we know how this can bite us)
3) A thorough understanding of what we're working on by dedicated study
4) The ambition to obtain a goal and not stopping to taste defeat
5) Keeping motivation high even if the end does not seem responable.

I believe that it does develop, demonstrate and keep all of those habits
and probably more.

Plus, it's a cool way to meet chicks. JK

The CCIE [certification program] does demonstrate an ability to operate
under pressure, but does it help to develop or demonstrate effective
work habits? I'm not sure. There's no real demonstration of those,
although they may be there; but the CCIE [certification program] in and
of itself is not designed to show that. What they are really doing is
testing in very confined scenarios in which you can exercise every
conceivable Cisco command -- some of which will never be used, by the
way. It's conceivable that someone with a very good memory would even be
able to do it. To some extent, Cisco now machine scores the CCIE test
results, and they strive to set up the exam content such that there is
only one possible answer to a particular problem, which is often very
contrived, because in most real-world situations, there are several ways
you can do it.
