Yasir,

I too have prepared for 12.1 and am scheduled to take the exam Sept 3. This
will be my first attempt but I am not too concerned about the change to
12.2. If you look closely they have been using both 12.1 and 12.2 in their
labs prior to Sept, only on Sept 1 they will officially go to 12.2 only. My
advice to you would be to upgrade your routers to 12.2 and re-run thru some
of your old labs to see if any of the commands (syntax) have changed. Then
read on cisco.com about new features in 12.2 to be aware of them. The DOC CD
will be a good help for any new features. Just a little practice should be
good for the new stuff in 12.2. I would not re-schedule and re-study all
over again just because of the IOS change. Also, if you don't take the exam
prior to Sept 10th you will have to retake the IE written again. I have been
told that the new exam is much harder than the old so you have that to
consider as well.

Subject: Need Advice

I am scheduled to give my CCIE lab exam on the first week of September
2003.According to Cisco they would test the new Ios specific features of
12.2 from 1st of September.I need advice as to should I go and give the exam
and take a chance.I have only prepared on 12.1 and I dont want my self to be
stuck up with the new IOS stuff as I had prepared very hard for the exam.
The other problem would be then that my paper expires on the 10th Of
September 2003 as I attempted the Lab last year on that day and Cisco says
that you should retake the written exam if u dont attempt in a year.

   What do u guys recommend.
