I would definitely go the RMA route if you have smartnet. Better to replace
the mod
then mess with boot code.
Of course I had to upgrade my Cat 4000 Sup III PROM to upgrade to the new
code!!
What a nightmare that was!!!! Then the code just rebooted my switches!!!!
DO NOT USE 12.1.14 for a CAT 4000 if it is still available online.

Its was supposed to be possible, but TAC warned us its easier
