Guys a couple of things..

1. The 5505 is exactly the same as the LS1010 (either will do the exact
same thing).
2. PVC discovery is used on the router interface! You can run PNNI on
later software versions of the LS1010 or the 5505 (before PNNI support
it used a Cisco proprietary protocol to do almost the same thing -
auto-route).
3. Why are you worrying about LANE to start with? As far as I know LANE
is not in the LAB anymore!

It is an older switch. Another one of ciscos' many acquisitions. But,
it will do everything you need for certification purposes.
