I am not that familair with this area but if the last 2 bits are in hex then
234 would be EA
correct? So this could be set right? This would then give you the ability to
use up to .255
or FF for subs?
Is this correct?

I kindly disagree with the last statement, I have implemented it with .00
always, and have used subinterfaces and it has worked for me. What happens
if you subinterface is atm 0.234, then you cant set the selector bit to
.234. Just my .02 cents.
