Richard,

Check out the following link from the 3550 config guide:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12113ea1/3550scg/s
wvlan.htm#76447

Watch the wrap!!

Get very familiar the the 3550 config guide prior to your lab attempt. I
would invest a few dollars in a ream or so of paper and print it out and put
it in a 3-ring binder. Read it cover-to-cover. It is the only reference
resource for the 3550 that you will have on lab day. You don't want to
waste any time looking for these kind of things. The same can be said for
the Doc CD.

It is essential that you be intimately familiar with the Doc CD and 3550
Config Guide. You should be able to find just about anything in about 30 -
45 seconds.

(Stepping down off my soapbox)

HTH,

Joe Martin

Subject: 3550 allow only one vlan on trunk link

I am working a lab that asks you to configure ISL trunk between two 3550's &
only allow VLAN 504
I created the trunk & created some VLAN's (including VLAN 504) on the VTP
master.

Can anyone tell me how to allow only VLAN 504 thru the trunk ?

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
switchport trunk encapsulation isl
switchport mode trunk
