Hi all,

I am sorry for the OT but can you guys suggest me a freeware syslog server
running in WIN2000? I have a Linux before but it has hardware problem
recently.

Also is there any freeware like ITO in WIN2000; for the test of my SNMP
stuffs?

Thx,
BBD (Big B;ack Dog)

Tim,

Yes. They can only resolve the source address of the logging entries but
would not resolve the IP address in the log messages. I can write some
script to replace the IP address but I wondered for the $$$ we paid for the
Syslog server, they should have this function intergrated.

Thanks for everyone replied.

They will not modify the log message, which is what would be needed to meet
the original requirement.

would read a text file and try to replace anything that looked like an IP
address with a domain name. I think it was mentioned in the O'Reilly DNS &
Bind book, but it's been a long time (back in the days of Perl 4).
