OT: Point-to-point T1 clock source

Sorry for the OT but I had a discussion this afternoon at work regarding the clock source for a point-to-point T1.
 
I am sure the clock must be provided by one of the CSU/DSU and the other must be set to line/network. Everybody else argued both sides must be set to line/network.
 
I called into the Telco and they told me they do not supply clock for point-to-point T1s, thus one of the ends must supply the clock.
 
I was not able to find any docs on the web regarding this. Does anyone have a link to a document for this matter?
