Hi, there! I am reading the snmp chapter on configuration guide and come
across something I don't really understand:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/ffun
_c/fcfprt3/fcf014.htm#1001347
<http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/ffu
n_c/fcfprt3/fcf014.htm#1001347>

There are 5 commands in order to configure snmp notification based on the
chapter:
1. snmp-server engine-id remote <remote ip address>
2. snmp-server user <username> remote <remote ip address>
3. snmp-server group ...
4. snmp-server enable trap ...
5. snmp-server host ...

Are the first 3 commands only needed when you are using snmp version 3? If I
am running SNMP version 2 and want to send some notification, I will only
need command 4 and 5, is that correct?

Thank you for your help.

Connie
