The only benefit for modifying BW under the interface is for manipulating RP
decisions.
This has nothing to do with the actual BW or clockrate.

Subject: 2600 Serial Interface: clock rate vs. bandwidth
I am looking for guidelines of the clock rate vs.
bandwidth of 2600 serial interface. For IOS 12.0, 2600
accepts clock rate 56000, 64000, 12800 (the unit is
K). The higher clock rate is not taken by 2600. The
bandwidth (show int s0/0) is 1544K that can be changed
via CLI bandwidth under serial interface. Any comments
or document pointers are appreciated.
Robert
