Hi
When your ospf routing domain includes subnets whose masks are longer than
those in the igrp routing domain, it's not difficult to do summarization so
that the subnet masks are the same length as those in the igrp domain. But,
what should be done when the masks are shorter in the classless routing domain
than in the classful domain? Is there a good technique to handle this
situation?
Here's a specific example:
The OSPF domain has subnets whose masks vary from 24 bits to 26 bits.
The IGRP dmain has subnets whose masks are all 27 bits in length.
Since the ospf subnets have masks that are shorter than those in the igrp
domain, I can't summarize the subnets since that would only make the subnet
masks shorter. Is this a situation where redistribution can't be done
successfully unless the network addressing is redone?
Thanks, Jim
