If anyone has any experience in getting voice and multimedia working over
VSAT links, I would be interested in hearing about your experience and learn
from your mistakes. We are doing a distance learning solution for a
government client and here is 1 remote site setup.
Cisco 1760 and Cat3550SMI with 2 Cisco 7905G IP phones..... also VCON Falcon
equipment, but not important now.
HNS Directway 1000 for downstream and multicast traffic.
HNS TES giving 128K upstream/return traffic.
My problem is that the incoming and return paths are different
(asymmetrical) and of different bandwidth or latency.
How can I get away with this given the sensitivity of voice traffic to
latency.
Any advice ( from experience) or sample configs wil be appreciated.
Regards
Pieter Scheepers
