im using rme 3.4 which recommends java 1.3.1.

cisco told me not to upgrade to 1.4.x...even though
they have it on their website.

I believe it's pretty clearly stated in the documentation to get Java
1.41... At least with the Management Center/Security Monitor stuff it
is. Perhaps that will help.

Do you mean the Sun Java JRE, which is like version 1.41 now, or
something else?

I ran into a somewhat similar problem, I went to downloads.com and
downloaded the newest java plug ins and that fixed the problem.

Actually, below I said "without rebooting" but I meant to
say "without reinstalling Ciscoworks." :-(

I've had a Ciscoworks TAC case open for an extended period of time but I
can't seem to make any headway with it. I'm seeking some correspondence
with anyone who has troubleshot CW java related errors on a Win2K
platform. Basically, when I click on process status, the webpages
produces an error stating the processes could not be found. I browsed
around and found that those errors are written to some java error
logs....with lots of java info in them. Also, I can pull processes up
via the command line but somehow the webserver can't grab the info.

I guess I'm hoping to speak with anyone who has actually resolved java
related errors without rebooting. Shoot me an email.
