RE: CCNP recert harder than CCIE written

Sounds to me like re-certifying the CCIE should apply to an expired lesser
cert (if it's just like passing a re-cert for that level) but you can
contact them to make sure. But do they really even keep track of the
CCNA/NP expirations if you've got your IE? Where's the CCNA/NP online
verification tool? : )

Does the recertification apply to an expired cert, say the ccda/ccdp?

Do I still need to recertify my Associate or Professional level
certifications if I am a CCIE?
Certifications at the CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP and CCIP levels are valid for
three years while certifications at the CCIE, Cisco Qualified Specialist and
Specialization levels are valid for two years. Recertification at the CCIE
level automatically extends the valid dates for the Associate and
Professional level certifications to the recertification deadline for the
CCIE.

Do you have a CCO link that shows this? I haven't found official word
that it's the case. My NP/DP are both due to expire this October, and
I just completed recert on my CCIE. Too soon to see it on the tracking
system, they say to give it ten days.

The CCIE and "Career certifications" tracks have traditionally been
disconnected from each other in the past.

I don't feel that it's really all that important to renew the NP/DP
once you have the CCIE, but I can imagine some clueless employer's
HR department rejecting a CCIE because the job requirements state
that a CCNP is required. Not sure if I'd want to work in such a
place but you never know.
