Figure the lab will have three basic types of requirements:

1 Core stuff that really doesn't change much, basic IGPs and redistribution,
   BGP, etc.

2 Wrinkles on core stuff that probes many of the tweakable "knobs" in depth.

3 Things out of left field. Bizarre and unusual features that you're not
   likely to come across, not part of standard routing protocols.

You should know category 1 cold. Period, end of story.

You should have a pretty good handle on category 2.

Your skill in finding things on the CD and just random playing with the
"?" prompt on the routers and exploring "I wonder what this does?" is your
best strategy for category 3.

I would take the release notes for 12.2 and go through all of the new
features that fall under categories 2 and 3.

The IOS and features thereof are more important than the hardware.
