Haven't got any link. I had a student ask, so I forwarded it on to the
certifcation team at Cisco, and that was the answer they gave me.
*shrug*
Absolutely true about HR folks, which is probably why they have linked
them! Or part of some eternal re-org. :)

Do you have a CCO link that shows this? I haven't found official word
that it's the case. My NP/DP are both due to expire this October, and I
just completed recert on my CCIE. Too soon to see it on the tracking
system, they say to give it ten days.
The CCIE and "Career certifications" tracks have traditionally been
disconnected from each other in the past.
I don't feel that it's really all that important to renew the NP/DP once
you have the CCIE, but I can imagine some clueless employer's HR
department rejecting a CCIE because the job requirements state that a
CCNP is required. Not sure if I'd want to work in such a place but you
never know.
