Thx for your reminding Howard,

Actually what I want to do is simple: I have a 16 port giga module in this
65 switch and after three to four month of stable, several ports in this
module will flapping, and at this time I have schedule urgent change to
move to another giga ports. It keeps happen in the recent two years.

The problem is not reproducible, the log only shows port up-down; but I am
very sure the cable is OK otherwise it won't work if I plug it into another
port.

But after a month later, I replug to it from the new port will resumes.

My 65 is 6509 with MSFC 2 SUP 1A. I have opened 4 to 5 cases at before, but
as you know, it's hard for us to solve the case even Cisco for thie
scenario.

Thx,

Be extremely cautious before using command modes intended for TAC or
developer use. It's bad enough that the ex-Stratacom switches have
privileged mode commands, accessible to users, that can screw up
NVRAM/EPROM to the point that boards have to be returned for factory
service. I can't say that this is the case for L2/L3 switches, but
I'd be very careful unless I was _certain_ I knew all the effects of
a command.

Certain IOS commands, at least, were never really documented in Cisco
outside the IOS code or code specifications. TAC would bring in a
developer, or some senior support person with code access, to use
them in the rare appropriate situations.

If you are having this strange a problem, isn't it time to call TAC
and file a problem report?
