Looks like the prompt command allows for some differant charaters and
doesn't give you the # when in enable mode. In the following my
hostname is C3745 and the prompt is MADMAN:
MADMANconf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
C3745(config)#^Z
MADMAN
