What we did was to create a translation pattern in Call Manager for this.
Then just assign an ext. to the FXS
dial peer or through MGCP controlled gateway you can assign the ext that
way.
So if the DID was say 914-555-1212 just translate that to an ext. say 1313.
Or if your DID's are all the same office code then you can just strip the
office code
and assign the remaining 4 digits to the FXS port and route it that way.

Subject: Mapping a DID to an FXS
We are currently deploying 100 ip phones in one of our new building and
I wanted to know if the call manager allows you to map a did to a FXS
port? Or is there a true fax ip machine out there?. An issue that I seen
came about people don't want use a fax sever they like traditional paper
copies coming in.Any help or suggestion would be great
