I am curious as to what maintenance release one should use when studying.
It is known that the R&S will test 12.1 (until this change) but I was
previously using 12.1(18) and just recently upgraded to 12.1(20). Are
maintenance releases primarily bug fixes and not introducing new features?
For example, if one prepared with 12.1(2) entirely, and 12.1(19/20) we on
the lab, would he be surprised at any different features between the two?

I was out on the Cisco Web Site and found the following under the What's New
Section.
CCIE Lab Hardware Changes
On July 7 2003, the CCIE Program will be adding the 3700 series router to
all CCIE lab locations. Please refer to the equipment list for detailed
hardware designations per CCIE track.
CCIE Lab IOS Changes
From July 7 2003 to August 31 2003, the CCIE Program will be migrating to
IOS 12.2. During the migration period all exams will still be based on IOS
12.1 content and objectives. NOTE: IOS 12.2 specific features and commands
will not be tested until September 1, 2003.
