Yes, a dialer string will work fine.
Also note that the dialer string under a physical BRI doesn't work without PPP.

In configuring dialer watch, I used a dialer string instead of a dialer map to the watched route. It worked perfectly. Is this config valid as well as a config using a dialer map to the watched route?
