This is what I found on the Cisco website for calculating the Normal burst and extended burst for CAR.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/qos_c/qcprt4/qcdpolsh.htm#xtocid215902 <http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/qos_c/qcprt4/qcdpolsh.htm#xtocid215902>

We recommend the following values for the normal and extended burst parameters:

normal burst = configured rate * (1 byte)/(8 bits) * 1.5 seconds

extended burst = 2 * normal burst
Rate: 10,000,000 bps
Normal Burst: 1,250,000 Bps
Extended Burst: 2,500,000 Bps
Can someone tell me if this is correct?
Thanks,
Danny
