Zakk,

Is the UNIX server synchronized to an external source? I don't think a
Cisco router will sync to a device that isn't synchronized itself. I
thought that's part of the NTP protocol.

Subject: NTP Cliet setup (NTP Server is UNIX)

Hi all

I tried to set up c7500 as NTP client, but can not sync with NTP server.
NTP server is UNIX(Sun).

Configuration for 7500 is below

ntp update-calendar
ntp server 192.168.1.1

192.168.1.1 is UNIX server address.

Other PC and UNIX NTP client is sync with NTP server.

Does anyone has any idea what is wrong? or have anyone
set up UNIX server as NTP server and client is cisco router/switch
successfully?

Thanks in advance

Zakk
