Be sure that you are smoking, not the router. If the magic smoke
leaks out of any router, inform the proctor. This is prima facie
evidence of a hardware problems.
As pure optical switches and routers begin to enter the process, you
won't be worried about magic smoke alone. If the magic mirrors in the
optical switching elements break, it's just as bad as having the
smoke leak out.
