for OSPF and EIGRP and less than 10k routes, 128MB is enough.
Even, if you order a 6500 bundle from cisco with Sup2/MSFC2/SFM2 and only
Fabic-Linecard you get it with 128MB.

This may depend on the model of sup and msfc. A SUP1/MSFC1 will run fine on
128MB.

You are correct, a 6500 switch running IOS is Native Mode and a switch
running CatOS with MSFCs running IOS is hybrid mode.

You can route vlans with either mode.

Do you still need to purchase the extra license for Native IOS? It used to
be around $2000.

I currently have the cisco 6509 with Mfsc 2 card on it , but im looking
for instructions on how to up grade it to an ios based switch and is I
believe to a native mode? Right now its at a hybrid mode..I get them
confused...
I want to route vlans on it.
