It's not always needed. If you find that what you are trying to achieve is
being affected by redistribution then filter it. I.E. if a question asks
you to prefer a route from one protocol and you have to do mutual redist -
yet by default the other routing protocol is being preferred then filtering
is certainly one option. I usually do it just for my own sanity.
